And it begins again! ...But first, reflection:
This weekend was nice. I got a lot of work done, and managed to have some fun, too. I finished up Season Two of Smallville at Pacific, ventured down to see Kim & Brandon's fabulous new apt in Corvallis, went out to brunch with my parents, and finished up getting books for classes. My jumbled list of more specific events: smelling the overwhelming scent of lots of pot in Clark, watching a big game of ultimate frisbee on the soccer field, playing with my dogs, having my mom ask me if I was on drugs, having my dad say out loud that his next big concern in life is whether or not I will ever get a boyfriend, meeting a resident who knows Smallville like the back of his hand, reading Macbeth, braiding Dale's hair, going to a church-related barbeque/concert, seeing Brandon dance once again, trying to memorize Sonnet 147 for three hours, Taco Bell, spending quality time with a lot of my Shwoodies, hearing Adam read his "Top 100 Things I Want to Do Before I Die" list, missing Mariko & Westwind, purchasing Season 3 of Smallville at Target. The lowpoint of the weekend? That definitely is when I unplugged my hair flat iron from the wall, decided that the floor was the best location on which it could cool down, then managing to step right in it a minute later, burning both the top and the bottom of my right foot.
Rehearsal for "Tales of the Lost Formicans" starts this week and I am EXCITED.
The sonnet that has been taunting me for the last 48 hours:
My love is as a fever longing still
For that which longer nurseth the disease;
Feeding on that which doth preserve the ill,
The uncertain sickly appetite to please.
My reason, the physician to my love,
Angry that his prescriptions are not kept,
Hath left me, and I desperate now approve
Desire is death, which physic did except.
Past cure I am, now Reason is past care,
And frantic-mad with evermore unrest,
My thoughts and my discourse as madmen's are,
At random from the truth vainly expressed;
For I have sworn thee fair, and thought thee bright,
Who art as black as hell, as dark as night.
I almost had that SOB memorized, but now I can never even remember the first word. I hate memorizing things. Blahhhhhhh.
Adieu.
